Image Resize to KB

Shrink any image to the exact file size your form demands. The tool lowers JPEG quality step by step — and only reduces dimensions if quality alone is not enough — so you keep the sharpest possible result. Your image never leaves your device.

Why forms ask for a specific KB size

Government and exam portals store crores of applications, so each upload window is strict: a photo might need to be under 50 KB, a scanned certificate under 200 KB, a signature under 20 KB. A normal phone photo is 2,000–5,000 KB, which the portal simply rejects. Compressing "as small as possible" is not the answer either — over-compressed photos look blurry and can be rejected in verification. The right approach, used by this tool, is to aim just under the stated limit: quality is reduced only as much as needed, and dimensions are shrunk only when quality reduction alone cannot reach the target. If you also need a passport-style crop rather than a plain resize, use the Passport Size Photo Maker; for signatures at exact exam dimensions, use the Signature Resizer.
