Frequently asked questions
What is the standard passport photo size in India?
The most common size is 35 mm × 45 mm (413 × 531 pixels at print quality), used for Indian passports, PAN, Aadhaar-related forms and most government IDs. Some visa applications — notably the US visa — need a square 2 × 2 inch (600 × 600 px) photo instead. Both presets are built into our maker.
Why do exam forms reject my photo?
Usually because of file size, not the picture itself. SSC, for example, accepts only JPEG photos between 20 KB and 50 KB at roughly 276 × 354 pixels; IBPS and banking exams are similarly strict, and signatures often must fit 10–20 KB at 140 × 60 pixels. A phone photo is typically 2–5 MB, so it must be resized and compressed to the exact window — which is precisely what these tools do.
Is it safe to use an online photo maker with my photo and signature?
On most websites your image is uploaded to a server, which is a genuine privacy concern for identity documents. This site is different: the tools are written so that all cropping, resizing and compression happen on your own device. Nothing is transmitted, stored or seen by us — the privacy policy explains this in plain language.
Can I print the photo at a studio?
Yes. After creating your photo, use the Print Sheet button in the passport photo maker — it arranges multiple copies on a standard 4×6 inch sheet at 300 DPI, the same sheet every photo studio prints. Take the file on your phone and print it for a few rupees instead of paying for a fresh studio shoot.
Do the tools work offline and on mobile?
Yes. Once a tool page has loaded, it works without internet, and the layout is designed for phones first, since most applicants fill forms and prepare documents on mobile.

Frequently asked questions
What is the standard passport photo size in India?
The standard Indian passport photo is 35 mm wide × 45 mm high (413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI), with a plain white background and the face taking up most of the frame.
How do I make my photo exactly 50 KB or 20 KB for an exam form?
Upload your photo, choose the exam preset (for example SSC), and set the target size. The tool adjusts the JPEG quality automatically until the file fits your target KB — without uploading your photo to any server.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool runs 100% inside your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
What size should a signature be for SSC or IBPS forms?
Most SSC and IBPS forms ask for a signature of 140 × 60 pixels, between 10 KB and 20 KB, in JPG format. The Signature Resizer tool is set to exactly this specification.
